Hello canine owners of the north coast!

My name is Erin and this is North Coast Canine Training.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

In 2023 I started volunteering for Clatsop County Animal Shelter as I was finishing my masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).

I spent 25+ hours per week focusing all of my energy on learning about dogs, dog language, handling and working with the most fractious dogs. I quickly realized that understanding and helping dogs and their owners was my passion!

Along the way I have committed myself to being the best trainer I can be, completing two mentorships with Dogs Playing For Life, where I studied on how to effectively and safely lead playgroups with multiple dogs, work with a variety behavior types and how to modify unwanted behaviors with specific training techniques. These include, but are not limited to, on leash reactivity (jumping, lunging - usually towards other dogs), stranger danger (being afraid of new people), and impulse control (can be for food, toys etc.), among many other things.

Through this work I was contracted by Clatsop Animal Assistance to co-assess and co-develop a dog behavior program that focused on creating an environment which fostered improved dog behavior and safer volunteering conditions, ultimately increasing adoption success rates.

After all of this work, I am ecstatic to launch my own training outfit, North Coast Canine Training, bringing my experience, expertise and passion to you and your dog!

If I could be half the person my dog is, I’d be twice the human I am.
